- There seems to be some confusion over a cleaning standard for
technical rooms. Some clients have been referring to a 3 or 5
micron clean for their computer or comms room. This is actually
referring to a clean room standard and does not apply to technical
rooms. As far as we know, there is no official cleaning standard
for technical rooms. The clean room standard that appears to be
quoted from most is: ISO 14644-1. To achieve and maintain a 3 or 5
micron environment would only be possible in a technical room that
had been constructed in line with the ISO standard where operatives
wear clean room suits and shoes. The Wikipedia link that follows
